Blackcurrent was a radical bookshop that moved frequently.

It first opened in a private house at 15 Squire's Walk, Spinney Hill in 1987. The following year, it moved to 54 Craven Street, where it operated until its closure in 1989.

By 1991, Blackcurrent re-emerged, possibly as a bookstall, based out of 84 St Michael’s Avenue. It later relocated to 4 Allen Road.

The shop's fluctuating locations shows the resilience and adaptability of its founders and supporters in keeping the spirit of radical bookselling alive.
