The Paperbacks Centre bookshops were a group of six bookshops associated with the Workers' Revolutionary Party (WRP). In London the branches were in central London, Brixton and Green Street, Newham. They also had a branch in Norwich. In 1988 the shops closed, perhaps due to splits within the WRP. The central London and Brixton branches reopened under the name Index Bookcentre.
The shops specialised in Trotskyism, Marxism, Black literature, general fiction, women writers, children's books, media, and graphics. They also offered booklists featuring their own and distributed titles.
