Sunpower Bookshop and Food Co-op was known for its focus on ecology. The bookshop specialised in non-sexist and non-racist children's books, vegan and vegetarian cookery, personal development, anarchism, and women's fiction. With a stock of 850 titles, it catered to a diverse audience seeking literature on alternative lifestyles and progressive topics.

It was a place where customers could find resources on wimmin's writing, vegetarian and vegan cooking, and radical books and magazines. Sunpower was also renowned for its wholefood and craft co-operative.

The shop provided a variety of whole foods, takeaways, and ecologically sound products, including water filters, sprouters, recycled paper, cruelty-free cosmetics, and household cleaning products. The co-op also featured oils, herbs, candles, scarves, stickers, and tarot decks.

It served as a community hub, with a noticeboard for local events and information. Sunpower's commitment to holistic and sustainable living was reflected in its stock and services.

Two locations for the bookshop were recorded: 198 Blackstock Road, N5 1EN and 83 Blackstock Rd, Finsbury Park, London N4 2JW.
