Red and Green Books

1987 — 1990
144 Churchfield Road, London W3 6BS

Red and Green Books was known for its dedication to non-racist and non-sexist children's books, feminism, Third World issues, ecology and peace, as well as gay and lesbian literature. It stocked approximately 6,500 titles.

Red and Green Books’s closure was attributed to several factors including a bad location, rising overheads, falling sales, and the impending business rates. These challenges ultimately made it unsustainable for the shop to continue operating.
