Frontline Books was located within the historic Secular Hall, home to the world's oldest Secular Society. The small-sized bookshop was integral to the local activist scene. It was the only commercial entity allowed to affiliate with the local Social Forum.
The bookshop had a well-stocked selection ranging from children's books to politics, erotica, and a variety of magazines and pamphlets produced by local, national, and international campaign groups.
It regularly hosted a wide range of campaign and community groups, reading groups, and various events, including speaker nights and the 'Not the... ' series of parties.
Frontline Books also managed an online directory of local activities and played a significant role in the refurbishment of Secular Hall.
