Cowley Club

The Cowley Club is a volunteer-run libertarian social centre on London Road, Brighton with a bookshop and café. It becomes a social club in the evenings and is a members-run co-operative.
It houses a radical library and acts as a base for a variety of projects dedicated to grassroots social change. They want to provide a much needed alternative to the mainstream based on the key anarchist principles of solidarity and mutual aid.
Their building purchase was completed in February 2002 and after a lengthy renovation period the club officially opened in March 2003.
Cowley Club are members of the Alliance of Radical Booksellers.
