The Labour Hall, Park Road, Hartlepool, Cleveland
The Other Bookshop was originally located at 102 Grange Road, Hartlepool, Cleveland. By 1988, the bookshop no longer had a physical location but continued to operate bookstalls from 35 Raby Road. Around 1990, The Other Bookshop found a new home at The Labour Hall on Park Road.
The Other Bookshop specialised in Marxism, socialist and progressive fiction, feminism, international issues, and labour history. It provided resources on Marxist-Leninist works, peace and disarmament, and general political theory with a stock of around 800 titles.
The bookshop also supported progressive groups by lending materials at cost price, serving as a vital resource for AA, peace groups, and other organisations.
