Bookplace was a community bookshop located on the first floor above Woolworths in Corby.
It played a significant role in the town by offering a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books, along with a sizable children’s section.
Bookplace was a community-driven project aimed at enriching local culture, literature and education. It emerged as a vital cultural hub for Corby, especially after the closure of the main steelworks.
Key figures associated with Bookplace were Andy and Brian. It was developed by Corby Community Arts and funded by the Arts Council’s community bookshop budget.
