Books for a Change, located at 52 Charing Cross Road, London WC2H 0BB, was known for its focus on 'Third World' issues, peace, and ecology.

It was previously the site of Collets Penguin Bookshop.

The bookshop was managed by Adrian Howe, the former head of publications at CND, and was dedicated to raising awareness about the threat of war, environmental destruction, and Third World hunger and disease.

The bookshop offered a stock of 5000 titles and sold badges, posters, postcards, recycled stationery, and T-shirts. The shop also provided regular catalogues of new books on Africa and children's education.
