The Harriet Tubman Bookshop was an African-Caribbean bookshop with a focus on Pan-African history, politics, children's books, women's literature, arts and crafts, and Black-themed cards.
It was active at least until 1995 and served as an important cultural and educational hub within the community.
The bookshop also provided a range of services through the Harambee Organisation, including nursery and hostel facilities, advice, and health work. The team at the Harriet Tubman Bookshop included Ozwald, Jackie, Sharmayne, and Mona.
In March 2012, Black History Studies organised an event at the Harriet Tubman Bookshop to celebrate the life and legacy of Harriet Tubman. The event featured a presentation by Panyin Ewusi-Aikins, a tutor for the Black History for Families Course
