Revolt Books was established by Ian Bone, the founder of Class War, and operated from 9:30 am to 5:00/5:30 pm from Monday to Friday.
The bookshop was staffed entirely by volunteers, with no paid workers. The volunteers included Lin Harwood, Tony Rees, Jenny Lynn, and Danny Grailton, some of whom later formed the Swansea group of Solidarity.
The group of volunteers identified themselves as revolutionary and libertarian socialists.
